About Our Studio
Since she was a little girl, T. Michelle Davy knew she wanted to open a community-based dance studio someday.
That dream came true on August 8, 2011 when she founded Davy Dance Academy in Annapolis, MD. The studio began with a mission of developing performance artists who have solid technique, a passion for dance and a strong sense of commitment to their craft. Davy Dance Academy continues to be a family run business offering excellent dance education in a non-competitive environment.
Davy Dance Academy offers classes in a variety of dance styles, including traditional disciplines and Irish dance. Our instructors are certified in the Cecchetti Method of Ballet, Acrobatic Arts, and Progressive Ballet Technique. These sets of curriculum cater to the needs of individual dancers and the development of strength and technique.
"My dream was to have a studio where I know all the dancers names, where teachers have positive relationships with dancers, and professional development is a regular part of the organization."
- T. MICHELLE DAVY
Michelle has worked in dance education for over 20 years. Prior to Davy Dance Academy, she's managed two different dance studios and worked as a Performing Arts Teacher at The Harbour School School. A highlight of her former careers? Directing & choreographing over 22 musicals with students of varied learning abilities!
Inspiration for her own studio came from the joy she feels when seeing kids' faces light up as they're learning new skills, whether on stage or off. Michelle thrives on the team atmosphere and seeing dancers track their progress. Nothing feels better than celebrating as a class when dancers reach a new milestone.
